With more than 100 days remaining until the start of National School Choice Week 2016, more than 10,000 schools have already signed up to hold events during the annual celebration, which will be held from January 24-30, 2016.
These 10,000 events will reflect the unique communities each of these schools call home. Some event planners choose to celebrate with open houses, others feature art shows, and still more host student performances to showcase the talents in their classrooms. These events demonstrate the many opportunities that school choice provides students of all interests and learning styles.
Schools from all sectors of education will be represented throughout the Week, from traditional public schools, magnet schools, public charter schools, private schools, online learning academies, and home schools.
In addition to events held by schools, National School Choice Week 2016 will feature events, activities, and meetings planned by organizations, homeschool groups, and individuals.
As a nonpartisan, nonpolitical public awareness effort, National School Choice Week shines a positive spotlight on effective education options for students, families, and communities around the country.
“National School Choice Week 2016 will break records as the largest-ever celebration of educational opportunity in American history,” said Andrew Campanella, president of National School Choice Week. “With more than three months before National School Choice Week begins, we have already eclipsed last year’s number of independently-planned school celebrations. We look forward to seeing thousands more schools and organizations make plans to participate in the coming months.”
